Snow day!

Finally, the first real snow day of the season. Sure the kids got to take the day off school a couple weeks back, but I distinctly remember having to go in to work that day, and chances are you do, too.

Many of you may be kicking yourselves right now for not stocking up on booze last night. Snow days and day boils were made for each other. Lucky for you, Folly‘s got you covered.

It’s the first Snow Day of the season today at Folly on Bates Hill, which means drink specials and big screen TV marathons all day. And, for the teetotalers among us, free hot chocolate! Behold:

  • $5 pints of Riccards White and Dark
  • $3 shots of Jagermeister (I know at least three people who’s pupils just dilated)
  • $2 shots of Sambuca Cream
  • Two glasses of pink sparkling wine for the price of one
  • Free hot chocolate
  • True Blood, The Wire and Flight of the Conchords on the big screen

Mara, Folly’s owner and all-around cool gal, tells me they’ll be doing this all winter — as long as MUN shuts down due to snow, Snow Day at Folly is a go.

Wallnuts Climbing Centre is open too! 3 to 10pm. Not afraid of a little snow. Maybe we can export some of our snow to Vancouver? I think they need it…

Keep your stinking snow, a feb spring is much nicer. Miss you…
