Meeker on Media on Signal on Toni Marie Wiseman

Two weeks ago I did a post on Signal to share with you Robert Carnell’s interview with Toni Marie Wiseman. In doing so, I shared my opinion regarding Wiseman’s work as a journalist, though I have since learned that she would be more accurately described as an entertainment reporter.

GeoffMeekerGeoff Meeker responded to that opinion today, while at the same time sharing his mostly positive assesssment of Signal, on his Telegram-hosted blog, Meeker on Media. You can read his post, titled An Easy Target: But is it Fair to Pick on Toni Marie Wiseman? along with my response to this in the comments section, by clicking here.

Thanks again to Meeker for sharing his comments on this Signal item. I whole-heartedly encourage anyone who reads Signal to express their views on what we cover, be it in the comments section or on your own blog, Facebook, etc.

While I agree with GM’s perspective the original Signal Post, I also appreciate that you have the wherewithal to acknowledge everyone has an opinion and is entitled to express it. Many would get defensive when criticized, yet instead you invite more discussion of your musings. That is a refreshing change. I’d not come across Signal before today, but I will be back – regardless of whether i agree or disagree.

  • Darcy, I agree with everything that Colleen wrote. And having spent the past 23 years as a reporter, I can sympathize with your situation. I know I have written some nasty things about people over the years that I later felt sorry about. Most of us have made the mistake of loose writing and uninformed observation at some point. Samuel Clemens was kicked out of California one time for some of the things he wrote as a pup reporter and look how he turned out! As for Toni Marie, because she works at NTV and is an attractive looking woman to boot, she gets more than her share of unfair stereotyping. She is very good at what she does and truth be told, is one of the main reasons the station has been as popular with viewers as it has been over the years.
Anyhow, full marks to you for posting Geoff’s remarks. That decision moved you up several degrees in my estimation. I added your site to my list of favourite blogs several weeks ago.
    All the best,
    Craig Westcott.
