Can somebody answer this following question regarding a solution to this so-called water shortage we seem to experience every year? Is there any merit to the idea of placing the water intake valves, which are already in the water resevoirs, deeper in the ponds so as to eliminate the fear of pumps running dry and allowing all of us taxpayers to enjoy summer.

It would be nice if there were some incentive for people who set up water conservation measures in and around their homes. Grey water systems is one way to conserve, but there are many less cost intensive things that can be done that would be great to have financial incentive to do. How about incentive to install dual flush &/or water saving toilets, low flow shower heads, rain barrels under the downspout - jeez, even to buy a pushbroom to clean the driveway/walkway instead of setting the hose to it. I do lots around my home all year long to conserve water yet my neighbhours and many friends do nothing. I'm looking forward to the day we get water meters and pay for what we actually use.
